Shraven and Sanjay Kumaran are two brothers who are unarguably India’s youngest Entrepreneurs. Shravan, 14, is the president and Sanjay, 12, is the CEO of Go Dimensions, an app development unit that they founded two years ago from their bedroom in their home in Chennai India.

Shravan is in class 9 and Sanjay in class 7 at the Vael’s Billabong International High School in Chennai. Since the two are less than 18 years, Go Dimensions cannot be registered in their names as per Indian law. So the registration is in the names of seven of their family members who are above 18. They have converted a spare room in their Chennai home to a digital lounge filled with Apple Macs, iPads and Samsung Galaxy Notes. Their ”after homework hours” are spent on coding and debugging test apps, while nibbling on cheese fritters and lasagna. Recently, they launched an action game called Extreme Impossible 5 or EI5. Shravan and Sanjay aspire to develop a tablet called ‘GoSheet’, which they want to be the thinnest and lightest tablet in the world.

They have built four applications — Colour PalettePrayer PlanetAlphabet boardCatch Me Cop –which is available in both Apple’s App Store and Google’s Android Play store. Their next app is called ‘Emergency Boat’ which was inspired from their own experience when Sanjay fell off the skateboard and tried calling his dad in vain, who only responded after 30 minutes. They have made this app for use during emergencies where you can set up important contacts along with six emergency contact numbers (recommended) like 911 or 100, fire and medical assistance – a total of nine numbers that can be dialed during emergencies.

Shravan and Sanjay are no strangers to accolades, The two have previously made presentations at TEDx, and IIM-Bangalore flagship event at Eximus and CII Chandigarh among others and have also been honoured by former president of India, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. When they start talking, they have crowds hanging onto every word they say, often having them in splits with their experiences. In one of those presentations they advised that intending entrepreneurs  should have a strong idea, self-confidence, a good business plan and know about sources of funding,” said Sanjay with the confidence that you normally only see in much older people. And he then went on to ask: “Have you heard of dad funding?” The crowd roared. For the Kumarans the only cost in their venture is to buy gadgets and that is where their father comes in. ‘we are a dad funded company which means we do not go to Venture Capitals to pitch our ideas, but instead approach our dad’. Their father who is the Associate Vice President  at Cognizant Technology Solutions has been a huge pillar of support.

The brothers are hoping to get at least 50% of smartphone users in India to use their apps, surprisingly these young kids know the value of sharing and want to share 15% of their profits with the poor and needy.
